Kaplan SC incorrect use of comparison

Hi,

Like is used to compare nouns is what we know. But see the following question from Kaplan. It just says that since Just as....so idiom is correct, the answer is correct. But what about the comparison. Is it a correct comparison.

I agree... Like should be used..
But there is only once choice with like.. and that too dont have correct idiom...
Just like.... so... is not right...

the correct idiom is Just as...So :(

The comparison is correct, as the sentence uses just as.... so, to compare two actios:

Congress is
and
Parliament is

It does no compare nouns, it compares actions, therefore "as" should be used, and not "like".

"Congress is" an action.... :shock:

I think Congress is ...blah blah....describes what a Congress is and not what the Congress is doing...
I am not convinced that we aren't comparing nouns here.

Guys..
Just as.. So is the idiom. One simple rule to follow is that Idiom has more precedence than all other simple or delicate grammar rules. So D is correct here.
