Hi there,

could you explain to me why A is OA

A common disability in test pilots is hearing impairment, a consequence of sitting too close to large jet engines for long periods of time.

(A) a consequence of sitting too close to large jet engines for long periods of time
(B) a consequence from sitting for long periods of time too near to large jet engines
(C) a consequence which resulted from sitting too close to large jet engines for long periods of time
(D) damaged from sitting too near to large jet engines for long periods of time
(E) damaged because they sat too close to large jet engines for long periods of time

(B) a consequence from sitting for long periods of time too near to large jet engines(wrong idiom)
(C) a consequence which resulted from sitting too close to large jet engines for long periods of time(wrong idiom)
(D) damaged from sitting too near to large jet engines for long periods of time( hearing impairment is a kind of damage, using damaged to modify hearing impairment is incorrect)
(E) damaged because they sat too close to large jet engines for long periods of time (same in d)
pls hide the OA in order to get good responses
It does not matter how many times you get knocked down , but how many times you get up

what is the technique (beatTheGmat) in order to hide OA I already saw that but I don't how to do it

in order to hide select the portion and click spoiler, same u can do for underlining by clicking on u

there are other options also like bold-B,italics-i,quote

u can change the font size and colour also in same manner

Option D and E are out as impairment means damage ( so we cannot write ..... impairment, damaged ) redundancy error
then we are left with A , B or C
now clearly A is correct idiomatic construction.
