I would agree.

Have you omitted the answer choices with 'that' because we have already indicated the year by using "the same year" ?

I thought its more appropriate to use 'when' to refer to year than 'that'!

However, any expert's advise would help here.

Hi,

i guess the that is related to the same year.. isnt it something saying like i did the same work that he did...so the same needs an explaination of what it signifies to...

Pls suggest!!

"issued in the same year of celebration as the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition" in option B makes no sense. It is as though the celebrations and the bicentinnial were separate incidents.

If you use 'when' instead of 'that', the sentence means to say that the coin was issued EXACTLY when the bicentennial was celebrated. We rather want to say that it was just the same year as the celebrations.

This is what I understood, please correct me if I am wrong.

A commemorative silver dollar coin, issued in the same year as the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition were celebrated, features the likeness of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark on the obverse and two feathers on the reverse.
A - A commemorative silver dollar coin, issued in the same year as the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition were celebrated,
B - A commemorative silver dollar coin, issued in the same year of celebration as the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition,
C - A commemorative silver dollar coin was issued in the same year that the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition was celebrated,
D - A commemorative silver dollar coin, issued in the same year that the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition was celebrated,
E - Issued in the same year as the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's expedition were celebrated, a commemorative silver dollar coin
What I felt between B and D was this...

Coin was issued on the year of celebration of expedition's bicentennial. It was not issued on the year of expedition.

B says jus celebration. We don't know what they celebrated. We need the celebration of expedition because the statement clears points out the celebration of expedition's bicentennial. Moreover, Comparison in B is also not so convincing !

So, D !
