the very first one is D

D is correct because in the other choices you can't have "written" modify Twain when it should modify letter, so D corrects this error. E is wrong because its awkward

(A) that they will, or could,
(B) that they would, or could,
(C) they will be or could
(D) think that they will be or could
(E) think the power stations would or could

With this one I believe the correct answer is D. I don't believe you can split a part tenses like that. I think you need to say will be and could be. I don't think that the will and be can be split apart.

(A) beating in unison and adopting
(B) they beat in unison while adopting
(C) beat in unison, and adopt
(D) beating in unison yet adopting
(E) even though they beat in unison and adopt

With this one, I'm unsure about the actual meaning, but wouldn't the answer have to be A? Its the least awkward one of the choices.

(A) A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn were published,
Verb should be was.
(B) A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year of publication as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,
awkward.
(C) A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published,
(D) Mark Twain wrote a letter in the same year as he published The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that
putting back to the original "that reveals that" is certainly wrong.
(E) Mark Twain wrote a letter in the same year of publication as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that
Same as D.
IMO C. Plz find explanations inline.
