(B) themselves being overworked
(C) themselves as overworked
(D) their overworking
(E) overworking themselves

PLZ EXPLAIN WHY OPTION { B } IS WRONG

I thought "their" could've been redundant but, other than that, I thought sentence 'A' was correct.
Removing '"their" for a moment, the sentence "The nurses went on strike to protest being overworked" seems solid, as in the hypothetical "The nurses may go on strike since they are being overworked". Another possible construction, which I thought could be correct, is "The nurses went on strike to protest that they are being overworked" but, even there, I think simply saying "being overworked" is sufficient; it's probably understood that they are the ones being overworked. After all, I can't see the nurses going on strike to protest another group of people being overworked.
