I NEED HELP T.T

by salimgmat » Thu Sep 29, 2011 7:16 pm
Although the organic farms in the agricultural community of Greendale are destined to shut down within the next decade as a result of competition from the organic mega-farm Full Foods, the farmland will not go unused for long. In the decade since the opening of OmniFoods, Inc., a non-organic farm conglomerate, a new owner has bought and reopened every farm in Greendale that has shut down due to competition with OmniFoods, Inc.

Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the argument?

A. Many customers of OmniFoods, Inc. are expected to buy less nonorganic food than they did before the Full Foods farm opened in Greendale.

B. The new farms that have opened in the agricultural community of Greendale since OmniFoods, Inc. opened have been primarily organic farms.

C. The agricultural community of Greendale currently has more different farms operating within its borders than it ever has before.

D. Many farms in Greendale sell produce that is not available to buy from either OmniFoods, Inc. or from Full Foods.

E. The demand for organic food is expected to increase at a faster rate over the next decade than at any time over the past fifty years.

i could not understand this , first the author said the farms in Greendale closed becuse of mega-farm Full Foods "as a result of competition from the organic mega-farm Full Foods" then he said the farms closed because of OmniFoods " a new owner has bought and reopened every farm in Greendale
that has shut down due to competition with OmniFoods, Inc.", so How the organic farms in Greendale closed because organic farms , then the auothor say also, they closed because a non-organic farm?

please could you explane more ??

You are mixing up the 2 thoughts
In a Cr , premises are jumbled up and served up in no particular order.
Here in this CR , the author says that
BECAUSE
In the decade since the opening of OmniFoods, Inc., a non-organic farm conglomerate, a new owner has bought and reopened every farm in Greendale that has shut down due to competition with OmniFoods, Inc.
This is a different pice of information

Its like this
Mr apollo :the organic farms in the agricultural community of Greendale are destined to shut down within the next decade as a result of competition from the organic mega-farm Full Foods,
Mr Mars:
But the farmland will not go unused for long.
Mr Apollo; How can You say that ?
Mr Mars : Because
In the decade since the opening of OmniFoods, Inc., a non-organic farm conglomerate, a new owner has bought and reopened every farm in Greendale that has shut down due to competition with OmniFoods, Inc.

This is based on a timeline...what we understand from this question is that
AT PRESENT: FullFoods is competing with organic farms and causing these organic farms to close down.
IN THE PAST: OmniFoods always bought farms that closed down due to competition from OmniFoods and re-opened them.
Conclusion: These farms that have closed down will not go unused for long, since OmniFoods will buy and reopen them.

Option B
tells us that IN THE PAST when, a farm closed down and OmniFoods re-opened it, they re-opened it as organic....so IN THE PRESENT OmniFoods will not want to buy the farms that closed down due to FullFoods and re-open them as organic, as FullFoods will still create competition and force them to close down again.

Hence, it is B

Tadaa...!!!...this question is a rip-off from OG12#104.

GoodLuck
