Scientists hypothesize that a particular type of fat
known as "P-fat" is required for the development of
eyesight. Researchers were led to this hypothesis by
observing that babies who are fed formulas low in P-fat
tend to have worse eyesight than babies fed mother's
milk, which is high in P-fat. It has also been shown
that babies that are five to six weeks premature tend to
have worse eyesight than babies carried to term.
Which one of the following, if true, most supports the
scientists' hypothesis?
(A) Adults whose diets lack P-fat tend to have
worse eyesight than those whose diets are high
in P-fat.
(B) A fetus typically receives high levels of P-fat
from the mother during only the last four
weeks of pregnancy.
(C) Babies whose mothers have poor eyesight do
not tend to have poor eyesight themselves.
(D) Babies generally prefer mother's milk to

lemme try
A) Adults whose diets lack P-fat tend to have
worse eyesight than those whose diets are high
in P-fat. -incorrect talking about adults
(B) A fetus typically receives high levels of P-fat
from the mother during only the last four
weeks of pregnancy. -correct one It has also been shown that babies that are five to six weeks premature tend to
have worse eyesight than babies carried to term
hence premature babies have worst eye sight
(C) Babies whose mothers have poor eyesight
not tend to have poor eyesight themselves. -irrelevant babies eyesight -> P-fat not to mothers eyesight
(D) Babies generally prefer mother’s milk to
formulas low in P-fat. talking about babies preferance does not strengthen why premature babies have worst eyesight
(E) The eyesight of a fetus develops during the last
trimester of pregnancy-tri mester means three months but prematur means five to six weeks earlier hence B is the best option

I don't understand as to how "B" could be the answer?

A clear definition of the pregnancy period is not defined in this paragraph.This being the case, how 'B' could be correct?

The answer should be "E".

The argument as it is written fails to show how the fact that babies who are born prematurely have worse eyesight supports the claim that P-fat is required for eyesight development. B makes it clear that such babies did not receive the usual amounts of P-fat as fetuses, as they were born one or two weeks before they would have begun to receive this P-fat.
