Gmat prep questions

by shivani.magan » Mon Mar 12, 2012 8:55 am
Hi ,
I have a doubt regarding gmat strategy . I have found a lot of gmatprep question collection on the net and before doing them wanted to ask . Should i do them before i give my gmat prep exam . Read a lot of times that if i do these questions now , i will see repeats in the gmat prep exam and not get a correct estimate of m score later . What is the practice to be followed here , should i solve these questions now or not?

Can you be a little more clear about the questions and exam that you are speaking to? I am not sure if you mean the official exam (to which you should obviously do a bunch of prep before taking) and the exams at gmat.com (which you should also prepare before taking). Please let me know and I will be happy to help.

Hi Jim ,
I am actually asking that i have found few documents on the net in which people have compiled gmatprep questions ( from the gmatprep software which u take as a mock exam before your real exam) and posted them . So should I practice from those documents . I havent given a single test from gmatprep software ( I am saving it for the last) , so if solve these documents beforehand , i might see repeats in my mock exam from gmat prep software and that would give me an unrealistic inflated score. So the question is should i solve the documents before giving the gmatprep mock exam?

Thanks
Shivani

You can take both GMAT Prep tests now. One now and one two or three weeks later, till then use some other reliable material. Post that you can use the documents. There are lot of questions in GMAT Prep software and saving it later would do no good.

Utilize them now, get to know where you stand. Find your weak and strong areas, work on them. Repeat the tests if possible and during your last month of preparation you can start practicing the documents because they get you in tune with GMAT questions, you can learn a lot from GMATPrep questions compared to OG.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

Go for the mock test as early as possible. Take both the mocks within a week and start using the GMATPrep questions. Take Prep2 at least before you start solving prep questions.

There are two tests available in GMAT Prep software. I was referring to the second test in that. test2 is considered to be tougher than test1, not sure about it though but nothing wrong in taking it.
