Can I apply in R3 or not?

by [email protected] » Tue Feb 15, 2011 11:46 am
Hello All,

I am an Indian candidate and want to apply in R3 of UIUC.

The university website says " Third Round - For domestic applicants and anyone not needing an I-20 ".

Does that mean I can't apply for the 2011 session. I know of cases who are waitlisted in R2 and they get their decision somewhere in Apr-May. This is the same timeline when R3 candidates get their decision.

Please advice. Thanks in advance.

[email protected],

The instruction you quoted sounds very cut and dry to me. If you will need a student visa, then they are clearly discouraging your from applying. You could always email them and ask them how firm they are on that.

Good luck,

Jaya,

Usually most of the business schools discourage internationals to apply in R3. Yes, you will need an I20 and the instructions for that specific school is pretty clear.
