With a strong application package I think you have a legitimate shot at either school, and I think at least in the case of NYU you stand a pretty good chance of getting in (I know more about Stern Admissions than I do about Stanford). Your score is just a bit under the average of 715 at NYU, and you...

Your score is good enough that it really isn't necessary to explain that you didn't finish. No one will know that was the case, and quite honestly most people would be happy with your Quant score even if they completed the section. It's a pretty good score if you ask me, and should make you a compet...

According to the LBS website, the average class for the Executive MBA has the following credentials: Class Size: 75 Average Work Experience: 10 years Range of Work Experience: 5 - 21 years GMAT Range: 600 - 720 Your experience will intrigue the admissions committee, but I think it's worth taking the...

Thanks for asking this question manukmittal1990, it was a question I was also pondering because I took it in March but I don't intend to apply for a year or so. I'm curious to see how the new format will impact my percentiles...unless they won't be comparing the old and new tests (which, realistical...

It depends on how you feel about the schools themselves, could you see yourself at each campus? Have you visited both? That can be a big factor, as can statistics such as the percentage of candidates landing jobs after graduation and the average salaries of graduates. If it were me I'd probably choo...

Congratulations on the score! Although I don't believe your other scores would have hurt you, it can never hurt to try and achieve a new personal best. You gave me something to think about; my quant score was also relatively low and I'm concerned it may impact my chances of getting in at some of the...

As was previously mentioned, it is never too early to start thinking about taking the GMAT. If you take the GMAT and are happy with your score, you have five years to apply to schools before your score is no longer considered valid. One thing to consider is the fact that the GMAT will be changing on...

Visiting prospective schools will help you identify better with the school in your essays, and will certainly help you decide whether it is a place where you could see yourself. It is ideal to see a school during the academic year so that you get a better idea of what the school has to offer, but se...

Unfortunately I've used this tool a few times, and only discouraged myself. I don't know that you can really assign a number value to your educational institution or work experience. Each admissions office will have its own view of your record, and own rating of your experiences. Also, judging by th...

Your chances of getting in depend on a lot of things aside from the GMAT, but it still factors in quite a bit. What kind of an institution is your undergraduate degree from? Is it from a highly regarded school? That can play a big role in your ability to get in, as can your community involvement and...

That was my initial thought, that it would be nearly impossible for me to turn down an ivy regardless of the situation, unless there were external factors (family, relationship, etc.) which don't really seem to be the case right now. I hesitate to look at the statistics for salaries and signing bonu...

flat_syc, the rankings you provided were undergraduate business school rankings, unrelated to the MBA program as it is for graduate study. It's quite difficult because their cost of attendance is also quite similar (Texas A & M costs $74,500 and Tulane costs $79,000). The difference in tuition, ...

I'd have to agree voiceofsticks. Even if you are planning to pursue an MBA in such a concentrated discipline, I would still think that going to Wharton over Carlson is a good move just because of the weight the school carries overall.
