1.Can you share what's difference between PGXPM and PGWPM.?
2. How is the diversity @ GLIM?,
3. Where I can find the important dates for PGXPM and PGwPM?
4. Does GLIM give more stress on profile or GMAT/CAT/GREAT score?

Hello

The details of PGPXM and PGWPM are there on the website.

On a very broad level, PGPXM is for people with significant work experience, above 5 years minimum but the class average is over 8 years. PGWPM is a part time MBA for people in and around Chennai for people with 2 - 10 years of experience. This will include weekend classes at campus. For dates please refer to the website.

We have a very good diversity for the current batch with students representing plethora of industries like IT, Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Shipping, Petrochemicals, Real Estate, Media and Communications, Education and Academics and many more.

Great Lakes has no preference to CAT or GMAT or XAT or even GREAT. GREAT infact was conducted this year only in lieu of the CAT fiasco and that the dates for commencement of classes could not be postponed.

Thanks,
Indraneel

Great Lakes does not differentiate betweens tudents on the basis of only GMAT but looks at the holistic profile of students, but having said that, from experience I can say that 95% of teh students have a GMAT score of 690 or more.

Therefore I think that you must give your GMAT one more shot.

Thanks

Hi Indraneel,

Considering that whatever analysis you did is correct ("95% of teh students have a GMAT score of 690 or more"), I am wondering whether average GMAT score could be surprisingly very high, aroung 720-730, which is equivalent to that of any top 10 Bschool.

Could you please confirm whether this statistic is correct?

Thanks,
goddy

Hi,

Just now I checked deadline on the site of Great lakes & found that the last date of application is 15.01.2011.
Actually I have not taken GMAT yet & I am taking it on 27th Jan
Is it mandatory to have a GMAT score while applying.
Also does the classes start in the first week of April?

Thanks !

Hi Pradeep,

Its upto you to choose the right course depending on the options you have. Based on the work experience it would be very difficult for me or Neel to respond on the question. Probably might help you out in case you would be able to share information on where you would like to go in your career etc... and on your plans post MBA.

where are the other branches?
- It would be great if you can be more specific. Great Lakes offers specialization in four streams - Marketing, Finance, Operations and IT and Leadership and Strategy. You can choose one or two of the streams as a major, based on your interests and career choice. If this is not what you were referring to kindly revert.

For other details, please visit our website - www.greatlakes.edu.in or mail in to the admissions team on admissions [at] greatlakes [dot] edu [dot] in.

Regards,
Amar

Hi Spartan800,

Well, I doubt if I can help you on this. Please try to reschedule your GMAT to an earlier date, if possible, to apply before the deadline. You can call up one of our team members. They may be able to guide you/ help out on the admissions process as well. (The numbers are available on our admissions page)

Amar
