thanks Inraneel. I read ur posts on pagalguy, really helpful. GLIM is already starting to get hot in my list.

One last question. How good are my chances of admit given all other factors are competitive with my "Entrepreneurship Experience". Does this experience weigh my candidature a bit more if I keep at par in all other admission criteria ? Or I am just another guy with Good score/academics/EC's clawing his way into this school ?
Cheers !!

Hey,

There aint any answer to this question. At the first glance certainly entrepreneurship is a bigger plus because of a greater learning curve and a chance to have experienced management, leadership and failures too first hand. Having said that, it would be naive to believe that one size fits all. Therefore, what have you done, what have been the lessons therefore and how would that make you a better fit to the Great Lakes MBA program is of greater importance.

That apart your GMAT score remains largely important as it would be an opportunity to show to the school your ability to handle the academic rigor.

All the best.

The Institute of Energy Management and Research (IEMR), Gurgaon is entering into a strategic partnership with Great Lakes Institute of Management, one of India's most reputed business schools. As part of this partnership, IEMR would henceforth be Great Lakes Institute of Energy Management and Research (GLIEMR).

Hi Amar,

While GMAT score is not your only criteria a score of 690+ can be considered safe for Great Lakes. The median score was 690 for the batch of 2011. More details on -https://greatlakes.edu.in/students/curre ... -2011.html. There were no sectional cut offs last year.

Cheers.

GLIM application period is oct to jan. Does applying early make any difference ? Or even a jan application has a same chance of making through as an Oct 1st application ?
Cheers !!

Hi bblast,

The earlier the better as your application gets reviewed a tinch earlier than the rest! However, your interview process would begin as it would for the rest, if there is a single cycle. Till now, Great Lakes has had just one admit cycle. A few more weeks probably the team can let you know the process for this years' admissions.

My take, October earlier you will get your essay/ SoP topics, so put in max effort on them for a month or so, get it reviewed etc... as GL does not take just your GMAT scores into consideration but has equal weightage on your SOPs etc.. as well and probably push in by end of Dec.

Cheers and good luck!

Hi Subha,

Great Lakes (GL), has a one year program. So in all you might save on the additional year you would spend on a two year program. More details on the program can be obtained from www.greatlakes.edu.in

If you need any specific answers you are welcome to post back.

Regards
Amar
