A. Error in this statement is the pronoun they - does it refer back to Anne Frank and her family or the Dutch couple. Plus that is never used to refer back to people. Plus it seems like the Nazi occupation was by the Dutch couple. Meaning error.
B. Same errors as A. Negates meaning error.
C. Correct - whom is a pronoun used when the noun it refers back to becomes the object of the sentence.
D. Passive Voice. who cannot be used when the object is the young and the family.
E. Same error as above. And pronoun error.

Answer - C

Please refer the below link...The correct answer is D.

https://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/sc- ... t3415.html

I use the following technique to determine who/whom....replace the sentence with He/Him. He = Who, Him = Whom.

For E.g:
Original Sentence: X & Y were hidden during the Nazi Occupation.
He was hidden during Nazi Occupation => Use Who
His was hidden is incorrect.
