Recently in the forums I have been reading different people's scores on the test.... My question refers to how people can have the same verbal score, but different quant scores, and still end up with the same total score...
examples would be....
Q-48 V- 41= 710
Q 45 V- 41 = 710
Q 47 V- 41= 710
How is this possible?? Any insights??
Test question.....

Dear tfa2mba:
I am by no means an expert in how the GMAT is scored. The score components have to do with how many questions you got right, degree of difficulty for each question, and how you rated compared to test-takers in the past three years. My best guess is the degree of difficulty is what causes the most variance.
Anyone else, especially GMAT instructors or the like, want to weigh in?
Lisa
