Stuck at a GMAT Score?: What you may be missing is a sound strategy

If you are reading this, you are probably planning to take the GMAT soon but are not happy with your latest mock score. Or, you took the GMAT recently and are now planning a retake. Certainly, you would have worked extremely hard and consistently scored well on your mocks...but then came a time and what you started seeing on the screen was not the score you expected.

This is a pretty common story. Despite all the training and material, why are candidates not able to perform well on the GMAT? In fact, why is the median GMAT score still below 550? Why do you get stuck at a particular score? The answer, we believe, lies in one word - STRATEGY.
GMAT is a unique test. A pre-requisite for most MBA programs globally, the GMAT tests not only knowledge and skill, but also temperament. A four-hour long marathon, the test requires tenacity, vigor and patience. The GMAT is also a test of time management and decision-making ability. That is why you are faced with a lot of decisions during the test - which question to spend time on, which one to guess and so on, which need to be taken quickly.

To be successful on the test, we believe that you need a sound test taking strategy - just like you would have a strategy going into a game. You should know beforehand how to tackle which question. You shouldn't be wasting precious time taking such decisions during the test. Rather, have a strategy before even the test day! Over the years, our experience with clients has shown that a sound test taking strategy helps you score upto 100 points higher on the GMAT.

To help clients formulate their strategy, we offer various proprietary tools and frameworks. One such tool is the S4G matrix (see file attached). The S4G matrix is a speed-accuracy matrix helping you bucket various topics based on your performance. This is just the beginning. We then complement this with our other tools and frameworks to help you face the GMAT with confidence.

So when you take the test this time, have a strategy in place - one that will ensure success on the GMAT.
