Even I pciked B but OA is C
E is incorrect becoz use of "which" is incorrect here.
what is "which" referring to?
"which" is referring to "graveteiro" , and that is incorrect.

.

What is that supposed to mean ?

Anyways C should not be the correct answer because WHAT includes more than 230 species ? Birds or Group ?

So that refers to the group, which is singular.

In option E)

graveteiro, which belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species and is

I am not sure whether there is a grammar mistake but it is definetely wordier. Somebody please explain this.

Thanks!

C, after choosing between B and C.

D and E out for sure because of the "which": that word is unnecessary here. read the whole sentence with option D and you will see that the sentence now seems incomplete/odd because of the extra "which".

between B and C, need to choose C since group is singular which would make "includes" a better choice than "include".

C is correct.

The verb which follows that should be as per birds.

What is the source of this question.

I solved same question which had an OA was B

However C is incorrect since include is plural for a singular noun "Group"

I picked "C" as well.
Between "B" and "C" the difference is "birds that includes" and "birds that include" and as per rule, verb should agree with noun immediately preceding "that"

Mitch,

This is a very old post. Can you please help me with this post. I am confused between include and includes. B seems best to me.

group of birds that includes seems correct over group of birds that include.
This time no looking back!!!

E. graveteiro, which belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species and is

Plz. explain this......
In D and E, the graveteiro (subject) lacks a verb. The result is an incomplete sentence. Eliminate D and E.

In A, that INCLUDES (singular) does not agree with and that ARE (plural). Eliminate A.

In C, that INCLUDE (plural) does not agree with and IS (singular). Eliminate C.

The correct answer is B.
