Hi. I went through a similar analysis just a week ago - I got a 640 too. It is a bit lower than I would like for the schools I would like to attend. That being said, I received feedback from some people that said I should try and raise my score. However, others have said that they know people with e...

I notice you have received lots of great advice on here - I would note that you should not be disgusted but motivated to improve your score! I agree that you must have gotten confused on fundamentals. Consider checking out the Manhattan Foundations of Math book. (You might want to try and see if you...

Let me first say congrats on sitting down for an exam. You may not have gotten the score you were hoping for, but you went through the experience and now know what it is like. With hard work, I'm sure you can get your score up to your goal (just read the other posts of people that have done it!) I t...

<t>Yes, definitely - I agree that GMAT prep is a better representation. As you see above on the scores I posted, I scored higher on all my MGMAT tests. <br/> <br/> Also, just a suggestion - I'd go ahead and take one GMAT test sooner. If you notice you are struggling with an area then you'll have tim...

I concur. I think I'm going to take a week off and then start studying so I can try again. I've noticed a trend of people who scored in the 700s on their practice tests seem to get 700s on the actual test, so I think practice scores are pretty reflective. Sounds like you have already taken the GMAT ...

Haha, sorry, I've never seen that question so I didn't have the book solution. I don't know any other way to solve it...but when I originally looked at it, I definitely knocked out E (15 miles) because for the rules of a triangle, we know that (10-5) < x < (10 +5) so 5 < x < 15 (x being the length o...

Wow, this one is hard. I've noticed with any direction questions (i.e. city is north, south, etc) it is best to draw a coordinate system. Also, with the isosceles right triangle, it would be easier to just use the rules of 45-45-90 triangles and know that 10 = x sq rt 2, solve for x to get 5 sq root...

I'm a visual learner, so I use this method to solve these type of problems: K = XYZ and we are looking for X (the hundreds digit) Statement 1 The hundreds digit of K + 150 = 4 Then you can write ---> 400 <= K + 150 <=499 Subtract 150 from all three parts of the inequality ---> 250 <= K <= 349 So the...

The connection was explained and then there were two subsequent questions. It stated: The 'connection' between any two positive integers a and b is the ratio of the smallest common multiple of a and b to the product of a and b. For instance, the smallest common multiple of 8 and 12 is 24, and the pr...
