Simplifying S2:

x^2+ y^2 + 2xy= x^2+ y^2 -2
thus 2xy= -2
therefor xy=-1

Sufficient

(x+1)/y= (y+1)/x
=>x(x+1)= y(y+1)
=>x^2+x= y^2+y

Not Suff.

Thus B

Here S1 says k has 27 factors thus sufficient
While S2 says k has prime factors r and s thus possible factors are 1, r, s, k only four factors

So which one is correct?

Hi Liferocks: Actually the question is: 2/x + 2/y = 6, but if you simplify this stm, you'll get x + y = 3xy, so stm1 is the same as the question, so it s not suficient. Am I wrong? Stm2: Staritng from x + y = 3xy (simplified from question stem), if x = y, then for x=-2, y=2, the stm is false, if th...

A. I did it by picking 1 as my initial number. 1-3/4 = 1/4 left after first pass 3/4 * 1/4 = 3/16 --> 1/4 - 3/16 = 1/16 after second pass 1/16 * 3/4 = 3/64 --> 1/16 - 3/64 = 1/64 left after third pass how much removed in total = 1 - 1/64 = 63/64 = A I or got to do the last step there and was gettin...
