Hello! One more piece of advice to consider. It's not enough to do a bunch of practice questions one time and then review them directly after. You need to highlight all of the mistakes that you made, write down why you made the mistakes you made, and then go back and redo all of the questions that g...

Hi Neil, Rich is right on with his comments, and I would like to highlight/add a couple things as well. First, did you take the whole practice test on your first three tests ? That is, did you do the writing section and the IR section ? Did you do these sections on your last tests ? A lot of student...

Hello Kareemicy, I just wanted to add a couple things to what Rich said, although I generally agree with his statements. One thing to keep in mind is that most people need to go through the books that read at least two times. So if you've only done the foundations book one time and you haven't revie...

Hi Kamenikt, Yep- you're right. You probably don't want to study straight vocabulary for the GMAT. Your time would be better spend reading and learning vocabulary in a more natural way as Rich suggested. Keep in mind that when reading you are better off going through news articles than reading novel...

Hello MBAsa, I've helped some people get into INSEAD who only had in between 650 and 680 so it's definitely possible to get in with a 660. It helps that you're from South Africa, and if you happen to be a women that would help too (more guys than girls apply to MBA programs). Officially, schools wil...

Hi GMAT guy, Well, if you don't manage to convince your manager to give you more free time, one technique that my students often use is to study in the morning before going to work because you're usually fresher. Also, this may not be possible but it's worth trying, you should try to take some time ...

Another couple things that you should keep in mind are

1) Schools sometimes frown on taking the test more than three times.

2) Schools like to see a progression in your GMAT scores. So before you take the test another time make sure that you've really improved.

Cheers!

This is an old post, but I'll answer one of the questions for future users. The GRE is now accepted by pretty much every major MBA program (with the exception of LBS as of early 2013). Even though only 5% of candidates applied with the GRE last year, there is reason to believe that there will be a s...

Hello! One thing to make sure that you don't forget to do is review all of the questions that you did throughout all of your studies that gave you trouble. Many people review the questions they got wrong right doing the problem, but then neglect to do the questions again several weeks later which wo...

One more thing- I've seen some statistics about the profiles of students who get into top schools. It appears that there is a big difference between the number of people who get accepted with a GMAT score of 640 and those who get accepted with a 650. That is, there's a good possibility that even tho...

Usually the last couple days should be used to go back through your previous mistakes and review the books you've read to make sure that you've learned from all of your previous work. It's also important to not freak yourself out just before the test since people who are more confident going into th...

Hello! So one of the best ways to improve you verbal score is to work on the SC section sense you can memorize and work on grammar rules much faster than you can improve your reading ability. Get the Manhattan GMAT SC book if you haven't yet, and read it a couple times. Then do hundreds of SC questi...
