Hey joeatl123 -- bummer that you encountered problems at the test center (it's unusual but it does happen sometimes). It can definitely rattle the nerves on something so important. Hopefully it gets worked out right away so you can still test in time for your apps. The reason we're writing is to enc...

Awesome - good luck and let us know how it goes! I scored a 660 on the GMAT. 6/6 on the AWA. 5/8 on IR. Got accepted to both the Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota) and Opus College of Business (University of St. Thomas). Leaning towards the Carlson program. Wow kobelco - you rem...

This thread is so spammy, a gazillion posts on an ancient thread touting the consultants, all from people who apparently just joined this site for the sole purpose of ooohing and ahhing about their great experience. Looks very suspicious (can you say "shill"?). Just sayin'. Might be time t...

I took my first GMAT test on 18-09-2013 and scored 710 (92%) V35(75%) Q50(89%) AWA 5.0(60%) IR 8 (93%). I am not happy with my score because I have been scoring 720 plus in my various mock tests undertaken almost 100% test conditions. Few of my mock test scores are as under: Veritas CAT on 25-07-20...

@fchris, taking the GMAT three times will not adversely affect your chances at any schools. More than that, and yeah, it can get a little iffy - but it always depends on the entirety of the profile and the actual score history. Three times is generally fine.
Good luck with it!

Hey Essaysnark, Thanks buddy for answering my questions. What is your opinion on M.Fin Program in MIT? I'm not actually comparing it with an MBA,but I just want to know if I could land onto the positions like Associate,Manager etc. @greatest, those are very vague job titles. MFin is typically geare...

You can pretty much take the GMAT exam as much as you want without it hurting you. Sorry but this is NOT TRUE. Different schools look at it differently but many schools begin to question things after a reasonable number of attempts. Too many GMAT tests can start to weigh a profile down and there is...

It's a little tough to understand what you're asking, greatest, based on the not-greatest grammar. :-) But we'll try to answer. There's no such thing as a 3-year full-time "internship"; that's a regular full-time job and will be counted as post-college work experience by the bschool adcoms...

You would totally have a shot at any of those schools with your 640 GMAT. They still want to see good career goals and reasons why you need an MBA, etc., but they are all in range for you. Turn your attention to those essays and don't worry about the GMAT again for now. If you don't make any headway...

Hey thejokermaniac - congrats on bumping the score up! The 640 is getting you closer to what the better schools want to see, but you're still definitely going to be challenged if you want to crack the Top 15-ish MBA programs. It really depends on what your definition of "decent school" is ...

Hey Nick - sorry to be so blunt but we think you need to be doing more research, your strategy really has some issues. You shouldn't get a recommendation from a professor, none of the bschools want that unless you just graduated and literally don't have anyone else to ask. http://essaysnark.com/2012...

Barath, remember that you can also have scores sent to schools later on, after you take the test (there is a fee involved then so it's often better to do it at test-time). You can do this through the mba.com website - here's the page: http://www.mba.com/the-gmat/gmat-scores-and-score-reports/sending...

Hi Nick - thanks for the additional information, it's helpful to know more of the story. If you were working a lot during college then that's something to inform the adcom about, but still, the GPA is lower than most schools are going to be comfortable with, particularly if you're coming straight fr...
