Well, I will apply to Columbia and NYU. And that is what I will be explaining in my optional essay. Clearly there are not enough hours in the week for me to focus on my academics, and that is when I sleep. I also feel like the fact that I'm only 21 and have a big business will help since Columbia se...

Interesting response. Even though I have been working 3 years so far at a top bank in the world you don't think it is suitable? I work there 30 hours a week and by no means is it an internship. I also own my own business which deals with trading and quantitative finance. And I also work nights at my...

Need direction fast, for Columbia ED
I just took the Gmat and scored a 640 47-Q 31-V. I'm disappointed with my verbal score, but I hope it is made up with my strong AWA score. A month ago I scored a 560 with a 6.0 AWA, but this was the day that my dog was put to sleep and I knowingly went into the test without saying goodbye to him so ...

honestly, a 660 is in the 80% range for all top schools. I think you should apply. Obviously GMAT isn't everything, and obviously any score in the 80% range (usually 640-710) is competitive with admissions. Don't get bogged down by the over achievers on this board or any other board. They are the mi...

I took the test Aug 23rd, so by the end of next week will be 31 days. The initial 6 MGMAT tests I was scoring 620-680. However, I revamped my study approach 2 months into my studying (took a while to realize). So the last month of my studying is what I count as the most effective since I was focusin...

Hey thanks for applying since this is an urgent, spur of the moment decision - i'm thinking about taking the test this monday. During the actual test I felt good, I actually thought I was doing really well since the questions I got were harder than most of my practice test questions for MGMAT. I tho...

What does everyone think...
A couple of weeks ago, I took my gmat. I scored a 560 with a 6.0 AWA. I was very disappointed. That same day I woke up to learn that we had to put my dog to sleep because he wasn't doing to good. So I went and took the test after saying bye to my dog. I'm pretty sure this was my reason for a bad sco...

thanks for responding, yeah it was upsetting. what made it worse was that I was expecting a higher score because I was scoring pretty high on practice tests. What is funny is that I actually thought that I was doing pretty decent because the questions I was getting were harder than most I have seen....

evaluation
hey stacy, i'm sure you have read my credentials that I posted back on this forum a while ago. Today I just took the gmat and scored a 560, in practice tests I was scoring 690s so I will definitely take it again. My dog was put to sleep during my test because he woke up last night and wasn't doing t...

thanks stacy. I just took a gmat prep test and scored a 700, I only saw about 3 quant questions on it that I have seen before. I've been studying about 5 hours a day since this is crunch time. I want to be rock solid by next week.

test in two weeks...
So my test is in two weeks. Right now I have taken all 6 MGMAT CATs. i've gotten three 620s, a 640, 660 and 670, latest one being a 620. I am trying to get a 660 or better, what would you guys recommend I do from now till then? Currently I have been going over MGMAT math problems that I get wrong on...

for the first question:
x + z = 12. You stated that for the x to be minimum, z has to be 9 otherwise the median changes. I'm confused by this because if z was 11, x would be 1. Then we have 1, 9, 11. 9 is still the median. Whats up with that?

650 is still a great score, it won't kill you as long as you have something else to show. If you are relying on just the test score though, then it should probably be worked on since you will be competing with those who score 700 plus

in the first sentence, isn't whose referring to world since pronouns refer to the word or subject directly behind it? Thats why I would chose A because none of the other pronouns in C D or E refer to scenes and B just sounds weird with " in fact..."
