IMO
D:
Line l: y – 5x = 4. Slope of this line is 5. Let's say m1 = 5. Line w: 10y + 2x + 20 = 0 Slope of this line is say m2. m2 = -1/5. Since m1xm2 = -1, we can say that line l is perpendicular to line w. Since line k does not intersect line l, it means that line l is parallel to...

Assuming no complicated physics is applied :) IMO B : Since the expression is: h = -16 (t - 3)^2 + 150, the maximum height will be 150 ft. This will happen when t = 3 secs. Hence 2 sec after the maximu height is reached is 2+3 = 5 sec Put t = 5 in the expression h = -16(2)^2 + 150 = 86. Hope this he...

We have assumed that the initial number of presents be p. Please note that a single person can have one or more than one presents. 2) states that If each person in the line had one more present to be wrapped, nine clerks would be required to guarantee that every present would be wrapped in 1 hour. IMO A:
A: wv = v^2 => v(w-v) = 0.
Either v = 0 or w = v. It is given that w and v are different. Hence v = 0. Sufficient
B: w = 2. Doesn't give any info about v. Hence insufficient.

IMO C: Question asks whether n is a factor of t or t/n = integer A: n=3^(n-2) => n = 3^n / 9 => 3^n = 9n This doesn't give any information about t. Hence insufficient B: t = 3^n t/n = 3^n / n. If n = 2, t/n is not an integer if n = 3, t/n is an integer. Hence insufficient Combining A and B t = 9n. t...

IMO
C:
Here is my shot at the problem A: This tells us that there are 6 clerks. So the minimum number of presents wrapped per hour is 20 and maximum number of presents wrapped per hour is 180. Also the total number of presents is >= 70 This doesn't tell us whether all the presents...

IMO E
x^2 + 5y = 49
A: 1<x<4. for x = 2, we have y = 9. for x = 2.5, y is not an integer. Hence insufficient
B: x^2 is an integer. if x^2 = 4, y is integer. If x^2 = 3, y is not an integer. Hence insufficient
Combining A and B also doesn't give unique value of y.

IMO B:
(a^3 - a^2 - b)^.5 = 7
or (a^3 - a^2 - b) = 49
A: a^2 - a =12 => a^2 - a - 12 = 0 => a = 4 or a = -3. Not sufficient
B: b^2 - b = 2 => b = 2 or b = -1
if b = 2, a^3 - a^2 = 51. This doesn't give an integer value for a.
if b = -1, a^3 - a^2 = 48 => a = 4. Sufficient
Hope this helps
