Re: Reviews of Official Guide Companion 11th Ed.
I am looking for reviews of the Official Guide Companion 11 ed by GMATFIX. After a little research on my part, it appears to me that all the positive reviews for this product are coming from the same two or three people. Just strikes me as odd there aren't more user reviews if the product is truly ...

Re: MGMAT Virtual Course or KAPLAN or Veritas Actual Course?
Hi all, I did about a months worth of self study a few months ago and got a 640 on the GMAT. I want to go to the next level and hit the 700+ mark and want to enroll in a GMAT course or private tutoring. I'm located in London, where the course offering is a bit limited. :( My options are: 1) MGMAT v...

Two points I would make: (1) Kaplan low-balls on its practice tests (probably so it can fulfill its money back guarantee). Your true score is almost certainly higher. Have you taken one of the official practice tests? (2) If you look at the I Just Beat the GMAT Section, you will see people who have ...

Re: sources for CAT
Ted, I took MGMAT 1,2,3,4 scores were 420, 680,680,680 Q 99% percentile and V is 68% percentile I need to improve on verbal/Cr as well as give more CAT. Could you point me to effective techniques as well as to more sources to CAT as close simulations to GMAT. Nasa Sources for other CATs: Official G...

I have heard that the challenge archive is unrealistically hard (like you will never see that hard of question on the real thing). Anyone else heard this?

Re: Honest Review of GMAT Books!
Kaplan: Pros - Good for additional practice questions as a supplement Cons - Review of math content is not thorough but just the very basics. Not enough explanation of test taking strategies. Full of guessing techniques with no real mathematical solutions. Not good enough explanations of practice q...

Re: CR -- same problem with me
Hi Guys, I have the exact same problem. In CR, there are times when I am very confident and I get most right. But then there are times that whatsoever I do I go wrong. I know that my GMAT score was hit because of my CR. The subjects were varied and I took time to understand the question because the...

I absolutely agree with ladistar about Manhattan GMAT guides. In addition, I would recommend the PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible and the PowerScore Sentence Correction Bible. Finally, how thoroughly do you read the explanations in the OG? For a while, I did not read these throughly and I di...

Thanks for posting your experience and congratulations. Your practice test scores really varied a lot, but I guess the timing issue would help explain that. Last advise, don't use too good hardware when doing prep, a cheap dell keyboard at the test center feels very very different from a keyboard ma...

Re: beaten by GMAT, 510 (Q31, V29)
Totally random question: but is it possible that the GMAC updated their question bank and that since i used the OG 11 that they have switched their questions to the material covered in the latest OG 12? According to Manhattan GMAT's analysis (and I purchased the 12OG, so it is correct analysis), th...

Since anxiety etc. could be a big part of your struggles, you might consider finding and taking as many free practice tests as possible for the GMAT (there are lists in other threads here). This way, you get more used to taking tests and it is more routine when you do the real thing.
