Role of the Interview in LBS
Does anyone know what role the interview plays in the LBS application?
I know the interview role in each school differs - some just use it as an additional part of the overall application, and some use it as the last filter to decide on whether or not to accept the candidate.

Will I get ANYWHERE with a 650?
My goal was top 10 schools, namely I am very interested in Columbia. However my dream just crushed about an hour ago. I totally panicked during the quant section, forcing me to go through more than half of the questions very quickly. I do not know what got into me. The problem is that I have no time...

I don't know what happenned to me - I panicked during the first few questions in the quant section so it took more time than it should and I just had to rush through the rest of the section. I got a range of 720 - 760 on GMAT Prep and only a 650 on the GMAT!!!!!!! I don't know what to do now. Will a...

You're right - it's z <x! I will edit it. Thanks for noting this.
But the idea is the same. Is there any other more straightforward way to solve this.

right! sorry about that :). Ok so, let's go back: we have: a+b = c+d from (2) multiply both sides of equation by d: ad + bd = cd + d^2 since ad = bc: bc + bd = cd + d^2 b(c+d) = d(c+d) so b=d and from (1), a = b The two points are one and the same, so obviously they're equidistant to the origin

In this case, 2 is not sufficient since it only tells you that a + b = c+ d Taking both (1) and (2) together, you would get: from (2) square both sides: (a+b)^2 = (c+d)^2 a^2 + 2ab + b^2 = c^2 + 2cd + d^2 but from (1): ab = cd, so you can eliminate them on both sides This results in: a^2 + b^2 = c^2...

The distance between any two points in the rectangular coordinate system is given by the square root of the sum of difference between the coordinates of the points. That is, the coordinates of the origin O are (0,0) So the distance from O to point (a,b) is: sqrt((a-0)^2+(b-0)^2))=sqrt(a^2+b^2) More ...

GMAT Prep - Absolute Values
Interesting problem - does anyone have an easier way to do it? If zy < xy < 0, is |x-z| + |x| = |z|? (1) z<x (2) y>0 (1) Since z < x, then |x-z| = x-z And since zy < xy < 0 and z < x, then x and z are negative (they must be of opposite sign of y since their product is less than zero, and knowing tha...

What's PowerPrep?
A lot of people talk about PowerPrep, as being a different exam than GMAT Prep:
1. Is it harder or easier than GMAT Prep?
2. Where can I find it?
Thanks.
