For RC, pick up The Economist. It has helped me. Also, if you're planning on going to business school, it's a great source of current events anyway.

Actually, not all GMAT breakdowns are created equal. It all depends on the difficulty of the questions answered. The GMAT scoring algorithm is a great mystery!

They're probably on par with one another. Although in my case, quant felt easier and verbal felt harder.

I suggest you use MGMAT Quantitiative material. They tend to be the most popular guides for strengthening your quant skillset. For CR, I recommed PowerScore's CR Bible. It really helps you with knowing which answers are wrong, helping you save a lot of time.
