Let probability of one of the events be x and the other be y. the question is to calculate xy from Statement 1, we obtain x+y = 0 from statement 2, we obtain x-y = 2 we can calculate x and y , where x = 1 and y = -1 so, theoretically, C is the answer as xy - -1.
