I don't see anything wrong in your approach.
X is 150 and Y is 90, and you have deduced X - Y
But the question (probably) asks for (X-10) - (Y+10) i.e, after 10 stamps are given.
So after 10 stamps are given kaye has 140, alberto has 100, diff is 40.

bmlaud, your approach seems to be correct until the last step.
You deduced a = 8 sqrt2
But the question is asking for the hypotenuse, which in your case is variable 'b' (and not variable 'a')
i.e., b = a * sqrt2 = 8 * sqrt2 * sqrt 2 = 16.
i.e., Ans B

IMO C The question doesn't say there are no ways to arrive at D other than A -> B -> C -> D. So, we cannot say E But, if A happened then B happens, then C happens, and then D happens. So, if D didn't happen then A wouldn't have happened. In other words 'If not D, but A happens' is NOT possible. So (...

My pick is (C). The store manager agrees with the owner's goal i.e., maximizing revenue.
