Chance of winning election = 40% Chance of selecting y or z if she won= (100-60)=40% Since she selects randomly between y and z, chance of selecting z if she wins = 40/2= 20% So, overall chance of selecting z= 40%*20%= 8% ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor at Break...

SP of one dozen= 0.9*4= 3.6
Profit per dozen= 3.6-2.8= 0.8
So, for 5 dozen= 0.8*5=4

Time taken by train to cross a pole = Length of train/speed of train Time taken by train to cross a platform= Length of train + Length of platform/speed of train So, t=L/S 3t= L+x/S Dividing the two equations 3=L+x/L So, x=2L ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor at B...

Let CP be x So, MP becomes 1.4x Discount is 20% So, Selling Price is 80% of Marked Price => SP= 0.8*1.4x= 1.12x So, clearly profit is 1.12x-x/x*100= 12% ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor at Breakspace https://www.mbabreakspace.com PGDM: IIM Calcutta B.Tech IIT Roo...

x has 8 elements y has 8 elements which are 4 more than each element and 8 elements which are 4 less than each element, so in total 16 elements So y has 8 more elements than x ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor at Breakspace https://www.mbabreakspace.com PGDM: IIM ...

P leaves 1 as remainder when divided by 9, it means p is of 9x+1 form where x is a non-negative integer It can be odd or even depending on value of x, so I and II can't be true always. We can write P as 3*3x +1 This clearly Shows that III is always true and Z is of 3x form. _________________________...

For mid term grade to be minimum, her final grade should be maximum, as her semester grades are fixed. So, max value value of her final grade will be 100 Now, let her mid term grade be x 0.75*100 + 0.25* x= 88 On solving, x= 52% ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor a...

Since m and n are in ratio 3:4, let us assume them to be 3x and 4x So, now hcf of 3x and 4x is obviously x Formula is hcf * lcm= product of two number x*120= 3x*4x so x=10 ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor at Breakspace https://www.mbabreakspace.com PGDM: IIM Calc...

Since the number x gives remainder 3 for both 11 and 19, we can say that x-3 is multiple of 11 and 19 both.
So, y which we get when we divide x by 11 is same when we divide x-3 by 11

=> y is a multiple of 19, hence remainder will be 0

Since x is directly proportional to y^2 and inversely proportional to z x=(ky^2)/z, where k is a constant Now, if z becomes half, then to keep x unchanged, y^2 should also become 1/2 This means y will become 1/sqrt(2) times of y Now, % change in y= (y-(1/sqrt(2)*y))/y * 100 Which approximately is 30...

Let one side of rectangle be x then other side becomes (p/2)-x .................(because p= 2* sum of both sides) Now, using pythagorus theorem, d^2= x^2 + ((p/2)-x)^2 Now solve for the quadratic equation for x we get, x= (p+sqrt(8d^2-p^2))/4 and (p-sqrt(8d^2-p^2))/4 If we take x= (p+sqrt(8d^2-p^2))...

Since the question asks for the closest answer, let us 1/9=1/8
As it will solve the question easily, it becomes: 1/(1/2)=2

Average= Sum of all bills/7 Sum of all bills = 511 Average = 511/7= 73 Alternatively, If we assume average to 70 and just look at the distortions and then just edit the answer: So it becomes(+4-1-6+9-6+14+7)= 21 21/7=3 70+3=73 ________________________________________ Shahrukh Moin Khan QA Mentor at ...
