I hope someone has a better way to solve this problem. The book offers a somewhat confusing solution.

Is x/m (m^2 + n^2 + k^2) = xm + yn + zk?

1. z/k = x/m
2. x/m = y/n

Answer is C

Thank you in advance!

We had a great time! After the class was finished and the instructor logged off, the particpants stayed on to chat - until they closed us down. It got late, midnight in some areas.

The input from everyone during the class was very helpful.

Ok, I'm an idiot. I didn't pay enough attention to realize this is a Yes/No question - which I should have caught again in yalanand's answer.

Study over-load, and my brain is playing tricks on me.

I understand why hypik21 thought the answer was C, since an $8 tip is possible in both statements. How do we overcome this?

Data Sufficiency strategies

I notice I keep trying to answer the question in the stem instead of just determining if the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Not only do I waste time, but I then get myself confused.

Does anyone have strategies or suggestions to help me with this?

Thanks.
