The question says something like this:
After this error was corrected, A's sale was still more than C's

only one choice is possible

hope that clears the doubt of two choices!

Kindly post the full question with the choices.

I am not very sure, but I am getting areas as 4 for bigger square and 1 for smaller square.

my first method took me less 60 sec.

though typing it was long.

The second method took more time and also there are more chances of error!!

Alternate approach

increase 4s and check if the number is dvisible by 7

44 = no
444 = no
4444 = no
44444 = no
444444 = yes
quotient = 63492.

this method took more time than the previous one.

IMO: 63492 I dont know the shorter method: but I took less than a min. wrote down table of 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70 need all fours for units to be 4, the number x unit didigit must be 2 (as 2 x 7 = 14) we carry forward 1, now the tens digit when multiplied by 7 should give 3, that is do...

Thanks Stuart.
I made the same assumption which you pointed out as false :(
and then went into thinking why anymore info is required.
The question itself says 24th tile is Red!!!
Both statements are irrelevant

And then :?: why the choices then
couldnt get Head or tail of choices, opted E (LUCKY) :)

IMO: D well statement 2 is sufficient. for statement 1: given X^3Y=24, what is the value of X^3Y^3 - X^2Y^2 that is X^2Y^2(XY -1)=? also X^2Y^2=36 that means (XY)^2=6^2 now XY can be either +6 or -6 from ques we know that X^3Y=24 divide by X^2 (which will always be positive, if x is a real number) ...

A request: Try to post one question per post. That makes it easy to follow. Ques 1: 4+7n is divided by 3 we can write it as, (3+1)+(6n+n) = 3 + 6n + n + 1 3 and 6n will be divisible by 3, remainder will be zero we have to concentrate on (n+1) st1: n+1 is divisible by 3, what we are looking for: Suff...

let X miles be travelled at 55mph (500-x) miles on 60 mph milage at 55mph = 4.5 miles per gallon total gallon used =x/4.5 = 2x/9 milage at 60mph = 3.5 miles per gallon total gallon used =(500 - x)/3.5 = 2(500-x)/7 2x/9 + 2(500-x)/7 = 120 Solve for x, you get 360 7x + 9(500-x) = 60*63 2x = 4500 - 378...
