-- wings refer to what? (Same like A)
(D) wings, shaped in such a smooth and perfect manner
-- wordy
(E) wings, wings having been shaped smoothly and perfectly so

B in spite of is wrong, no contradiction in the sentence

D/E don't look like a subordinate clause "

I feel Ans should be D.

Research {Modifier} on the nature of language and {Additive} the processes , As additive is present, subject becomes plural and hence answer will follow... "have".

SC gurus, please correct If I'm wrong.
