Calculate the area of the sector OAB and deduct the the area of the equilateral triangle OAB. Arc AB makes an angle 60 (= 2*the interior angle (ie 30)) at the center O. Sector OAB area = 60/360 * 36 * pi OAB is an equilateral triangle with side = radius Area = (root 3)/4 * 36 Ans is 6pi-9(root 3).

Sum of first 4 terms is 6. After every 4 terms, terms repeat.
There are 20 4 terms in 83 tems
sum = 20*6 = 120 + sum of the first three (8) = 128.

Hi xilef,
Your approach is also correct. However you missed four more cases
winning at least 2 (4/125 + 4/125 + 4/125) + winning all the three races(1/125)
This approach takes more time. Take the oppsite 1-P(winning none)

Hi, Though the answer is 7 acres per hr. I believe the approach is this. First information H completing 40 acres in 8 hrs is used in finding out H's speed i.e 5 acres per hour.
