Statement 1

Square and Rhombus both share this property. Insufficient

Statement 2

In rhombus opposite angles are equal so we can rule it out. Rectangle and square share this property but I believe GMAT considers Square as a special rectangle so it should be sufficient.

Hi Rich

I agree. I will be careful next time.

(sofiasol: Sorry for the inconvenience. The approach is correct so you can still use it but just remember to test with different numbers if you have two options yielding same answer).

Thanks

n=2

The sequence for 2nd term is 2²+1 = 5
The sequence for 3rd term is 3²+1 = 10
The sequence for 4th term is 4²+1 = 17 etc

The value of the (n+1)th term (3rd term) minus the value of the nth term (2nd term)
10 - 5 = 5 which is equal to (2 x 2) + 1

Statement 1 Firstly notice that we can end up with N^p as 6 in two different ways 1) 6x6 (regardless of how many times) will give unit digit as 6. So this number can be 96. 2) (4x4) x (4x4) sets of blue and red regardless of how many times you multiply will always give unit digit as 6. So lets pick...

Sorry Marty I am really horrible with Counting and Probability questions. After a lot of work I could just grasp the basics and am really struggling with these 2 topics. I am thinking of maybe skipping anything that comes unless of course it's very basic!

Combinations or Fundamental Counting

Hi Brent I was going through your videos. I have some confusion in this video and would appreciate your help https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gmat-counting/video/795 At 1:20 you mention that the "outcomes are different". I am a bit confused with the language. We can find the result by us...

Best approach for VIC problems

Hello All I would like to seek some advice on VIC problems. I am curious if its worth learning a new approach for these kind of problem or selecting values for variables x,y and z etc and testing 5 options is the best approach (even though a bit time consuming). Also, is it safe to assume that one s...

Thanks both for your inputs :-) Marty I totally agree with what you said - People who score in the 600's are concerned with how to handle questions. People who score in the 700's are concerned with how to get right answers. (I can see my approach in the 600 bracket!) - The GMAT is not a math test te...

Statement 1 If we know mean is even then median must be even. Sufficient Statement 2 Example: 2,4,6,8 (even count) = Range not divisible by 4 2,4,6,8,10 (odd count) = Range divisible by 4 It will always be the case that for odd count of even integers that - range will be divisible by 4 - median wil...
