Could anyone solve this ques. The only thing I can figure out is that in the ques itself, in a way, 3 and 4 have been written as 2+1 and 5-1 which becomes 2+5 (if you know what I mean). Experts?

adt29, could you tell me where this ques is from coz elsewhere on the web I see the answer as 11/18 (agreed, which is close to 60%). If we set up an equation for this sum we indeed get 11/18. The avgs approach is grt but I only worry that the answers may be too close and a 60% may not be too helpful...

Matt, Could you please help me with the last part of the (Yes/No) question and also explaining the reasoning. Thank you. I think it is the same as the last part in the question below. Just need some guidance in answering questions like these. On 43percent of days, the market actually goes up. On 12 ...

Agree with the first two answers but isn't the market movement independent of the prediction. How should one think about this particular question.

22:15?
I'll explain. No, x is taking 22 hrs as per the solution vs 15 for y and z. X is slower than y and z combined.

Hi Pearson, Here it goes. The sum of daily productions for the past n days is 50*n. Now today's production is 90. If we add this to the total sum and recalculate the average (including one more day that is today) we have an avg of 55 (as given in the question). So we can set up the equation as (50n+...

x cannot be 52 since 52 is 26*2 and since both both 2 and 26 are present in 50!, 52 is a factor of 50!

Jitsy: How did you calculate 290 2BRs. Could you please explain it. ----- We calculated 40 rented 1BRs and 240 rented 2BRs. Now given one rented 1BR for every 5 (1/5 in the question) there must be 5*40=200 total 1BRs. Out of the total 490 units there must then be 490-200=290 2BRs (since there are on...

Faraz, I don't know how long this approach took you. I think it might be quicker to try the approach below. Rented = 280 Given the ratio 6:1, 40 1BR and 240 2BR are rented. Now you calculated yourself that the total 2BRs are 290. In the above equation, we calculated 240 2BRs are rented so there must...

Your table is right but this should be your equation.

(280 - 0.2x)/0.2x = 6/1. If you solve this you get x=200
