Hi all, Perhaps I may be having one of those days where the brain is not fucntioning efficiently, but is there a quicker way to determine that n MUST be odd to ensure N^3 - 1 is ALWAYS divisible by 4? I understand N, when EVEN, can and cannot be divided by 4, but testing these conditions under exam ...

Is p divisible by 168?

Is p divisible by 168?
(1) p is divisible by 14
(2) p is divisible by 12

((24)^2.pi)/16 = (6)^2.pi = 36.pi

Elementary question but how to dervive 6^2 from (24)^2/16.

AND

Exponents and Roots

Solve using the properties of roots:

(4sqroot(64))/(4sqroot(4))

= 4sqroot (16)

= 2

Understand how to get to 2, but could someone explain mathmatically how to go from 4sqroot (16) to 2.

thank you.
