Dear gmat_dec,

Your target schools, including the ones you notes as back up, are all highly selective schools. While your profile is competitive for these schools, your decisions will be based on more than a profile. The decisions will be how well you present your background and rationale for an MBA relative to the applicant pool. Likewise, you will need to show how you will add value to these programs. I would encourage you to add at least 2 schools that are more of a safety option for you if your priority is to be in business school by September 2011. These schools will have GMAT averages below 670 and good ties to your desired industry post-MBA. All schools will have marketing electives, but some have richer elective offerings than others in industry or functional specific courses, like brand management or marketing research. Depending on what your career goals are, as marketing is a pretty broad umbrella, you should identify safety options with solid coursework in that area.

Good luck,
Lisa
