I recently took the GMAT for the third time and improved a significant amount. I was working on applications to submit for the 2nd round; however most of the schools I was preparing to apply for were selected with a much lower gmat score in mind (630). Now that my score is at a competitive level, I am reassessing my target schools.
The schools I would like to target now are: Wharton, Booth, Tuck, Columbia, and Darden
Can you please provide feedback on how my profile relates to that target list?
Also, do you recommend submitting applications in the 3rd round? or waiting a year to submit in the fall?
My profile is as follows:
GMAT: 740 (Q48, V44)
Education:
Bachelors in Business Administrations
Double Majored in Finance and Government as well as a concentration in Accounting
College of William and Mary
GPA: 3.24
Experience:
-4.5 years at a private equity fund-of-funds; Promoted 1.5 years ago; A number of leadership responsibilities as the firm is relatively small
-Tour manager during 4 summers of college for a music organization with 135 performers traveling across the country
Extra-curricular:
College
Fraternity - Treasurer; Rush Chair; Alumni Relations Chair
College Judicial Council
Greek Judicial Council
Post-College
Big Brother Big Sister
William and Mary Richmond Alumni Leadership Council
Golf, skiing, camping, etc
Other
Eagle Scout
Post-MBA Plans: Principal investing with a mezzanine private equity fund.
I appreciate any feedback. Thank you for your time!

Geez, that's one heck of a Christmas present!
Good idea to change your target list.
You have what looks to me a pretty strong profile, and though chances are lower, you might squeeze in in 3rd round. Do you have a good reason to do so? then yes. If you would rather leave your chances as open as possible and have possibly multiple admits and/or scholarship offers in hand, wait for next year.
