Average of the 3 consecutive integers = sum/quantity = 54/3 = 18.BTGmoderatorDC wrote:If the sum of 3 consecutive integers is 54, then what is the product of the smallest and largest of these integers?

For any set of consecutive integers, average = median.
Thus, the median of the 3 integers = 18, implying that the 3 integers are 17, 18, and 19.
Product of the smallest and largest = 17*19 = integer with a units digit of 3.
The correct answer is E.

Since the sum of 3 consecutive integers is 54, the middle integer must be the average, which is 54/3 = 18. So the smallest integer must be 17 and the largest must be 19. So the product is 17 x 19 = 323.BTGmoderatorDC wrote:If the sum of 3 consecutive integers is 54, then what is the product of the smallest and largest of these integers?
