If the area of a square with sides length 8 centimeters is equal to the area of a rectangle with a width of 4 centimeters, what is the length of the rectangle, in centimeters?
A. 4
B. 8
C. 12
D. 16
E. 18
The OA is D.
If the square has a side of 8 centimeters and its area is equal to the area of a rectangle width a width of 4 centimeters, then
$$A_{square}=A_{rectangle}$$
$$8^2=4\cdot L\ \Rightarrow \ L=\frac{64}{4}=16\ centimeters$$
