Pioneered by scientists at Los Alamos

82. Pioneered by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory, BEAM robots are not programmed to walk; instead they use brainlike circuits called neural networks to learn to walk through trial and error.
o BEAM robots are not programmed to walk; instead they use brainlike circuits called neural networks to learn to walk through trial and error
o BEAM robots learn to walk through trial and error by using brainlike circuits called neural networks instead of by programming them
o BEAM robots are not being programmed to walk but instead using brainlike circuits called neural networks and learning to walk through trial and error
o brainlike circuits called neural networks are used instead of programming for BEAM robots learning to walk through trial and error
o brainlike circuits called neural networks are being used for BEAM robots that learn to walk through trial and error instead of being programmed

Many say that robots should be pioneered by scientist but not circuits.
But why? If I say like D, whats wrong about it? Isn't the circuit possible to be pioneered also?

Even if Scientists pioneered circuits... BEAM robots learning to walk through trial and error seems awkward.

Please post OA along with ur post.

D) brainlike circuits called neural networks are used instead of programming for BEAM robots learning to walk through trial and error

Pioneered by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory, brainlike circuits called neural networks are used instead of programming for BEAM robots learning to walk through trial and error.

The two other reasons why D is wrong-

1) LEARNING TO WALK THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR is modifying BEAM ROBOTS.
So the meaning changes, it seems brainlike circuits are used ONLY on THOSE ROBOTS WHO ARE learning to walk... But the original sentence talks about ALL BEAM ROBOTS.

2) X instead of Y
X = Brainlike circuits called neural networks are used
Y = Programming for Robots
This doesn't seem parallel
