Overfishing : BOLD FACED QUESTION!

by aditya.j » Fri Mar 23, 2012 10:12 pm
In consideration of the modern ecological climate, an industrial fishery has recently reacted to charges of overfishing by reducing the maximum daily catch per boat for its fishing fleet stationed in the Arctic Ocean. Some critics within the company have wondered aloud if the reduction in inventory will decrease the fishery's profits to a greater extent than the public relations boost resulting from the changed strategy will increase them. This fear is unfounded, because the fishery will be able to charge significantly higher prices for their products as a direct result of their new eco-friendly policies.

In the argument above, what are the roles of the two boldfaced portions of the text?

a) The first names the conclusion of the argument; the second provides support for that conclusion.
b) The first is one of two conclusions of this argument; the second calls this conclusion into question.
c) The first provides support for the conclusion of the argument; the second identifies a possibility that is denied by the conclusion of the argument.
d) Both the first and the second are provided as evidence to support the conclusion of the argument.
e) The first offers evidence to support the conclusion of the argument; the second is that conclusion.

THE OA is C
I wonder however, why is D wrong??
