I think the underlined portion is correct as it is. so is B. While using neither or none (Some, any, more, none, all, many, each, either, neither, half, one or any other sub group that picks out a sub group) always see what is in the prepositional phrase and place singular/plural accordingly.neeti2711 wrote:My husband, along with my sons, regrets to inform you that neither of my sons are planning to attend your son's bar mitzvah.
Which of the following options is correct for the underlined portion -
(A) neither of my sons is
(B) none of my sons are
Both the options are correct. Neither(/Either) will always take a singular verb. In option A, though the subject is plural (my sons), the verb has to be singular.neeti2711 wrote:My husband, along with my sons, regrets to inform you that neither of my sons are planning to attend your son's bar mitzvah.

Option B is also right as Some, All, None, Any,and Most will followed either by singular or by plural depending on the subject. So, as subject is plural, none..are is a correct construction.
Hope this helps!
