Stratus Admissions Counseling - MBA Admissions CounselorFor thirteen years Lisa was a member of the admissions committee at the MIT Sloan School of Management. There she read thousands of applications across all industries and geographies and interviewed hundreds of candidates for the two year MBA, Masters of Finance, Leaders for Global Operations, Sloan Fellows and EMBA programs.
Lisa spent the early part of her career as an institutional equity analyst at Prudential Securities. She then moved to US Trust where she was started her tenure as an equity analyst. She later became the Vice President and Treasurer of the UST Private Equity Investors Fund, Inc. as part of the team that raised and managed a $40 million fund invested in privately held companies and venture capital and LBO funds. She then moved to Tenneco where she was the Director of Investor Relations. Over several years, she worked closely with company management and Wall Street analysts to help guide investors through the companys transformation from four business segments to two and then the firms ultimate split into two independent companies.
Lisa earned a BA in Political Science from Wellesley College and MBA with a concentration in finance from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. She initially thought she wanted to be a lawyer, then decided business was a better fit for her. In college she was the Sports Editor of the the Wellesley News and played rugby. At Cornell she was a Vice President of the Finance Club and captain of the womens ice hockey team.
An avid traveler, she spent lots of time in the Middle East while in college. More recently she visits Spain often and loves and has lived in Madrid. Lisa has been skiing since she could walk and as an adult started to study Spanish, became an avid soccer fan and took up tennis. She has played on and captained competitive womens tennis teams for many years./p>
