For his first two years after Carnegie Mellon, Erik worked for Citicorp in their North American Investment Banking unit in New York as a Corporate Finance analyst covering transactions in various industries: Entertainment & Hospitality, Transportation, Financial Services, and Oil & Gas. Erik also spent an additional two years before graduate school as a Management Associate for Norwegian Cruise Lines in finance, marketing and on-shore operations.
During his time at Chicago Booth, Erik was selected as a LEAD facilitator for 1st year MBAs, was a member of the Management Consulting club, played on the MBA basketball team, and led Chicago Booths participation in the MBA Fuqua Games at Duke University. Erik accepted a summer internship with Accentures Strategy Consulting group in Chicago.
After completing his MBA, Erik joined Accenture in their San Francisco office as a Management Consultant where he advised Healthcare, Retail and Financial Service clients with new product development and launch strategies. He later left consulting for the start-up world where he held leadership roles in Business Development, Corporate Development, Strategic Partnerships, and Sales for both pure play digital eCommerce start-ups as well as eCommerce divisions of traditional brick and mortar retailers. Currently, Erik invests in and consults for start-ups in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also a co-owner of multiple Ben & Jerrys franchises.
Erik remains close to the MBA community, having served as an advisor and coach at the UC Berkeley Business Plan (now Startup) Competition as well as the annual Chicago Booth Leadership Challenge.
