Need some encouragement!!!

by DFritschy » Tue Aug 21, 2012 1:31 pm
Hi everyone,

The GMAT is next week for me and I'm starting to second guess my skills in quant. I only need a 550 which is very low, but still I really don't want to have to repeat this thing.

When do the PS and DS problems start getting hard in the OFG13? I do fine with the first 80 PS problems and the first 50 DS problems but start to struggle after that...I'm wondering if I can improve my last practice test of a 31 in quant. I feel like I've learned a lot since that score and have gotten better at general test taking strategies, but still.

Hi DFritschy,

The questions in the OG13 are arranged by level of difficulty, so it's only natural that your success rate will decrease as you advance through the questions.

If it's only a week until your test, I suggest that you take some more practice tests to hone your test-taking skills. If those tests reveal some glaring holes in your math skills (e.g., Percents or Statistics), you can go back and strengthen those areas.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Brent

Here are a couple of articles penned by Brent himself. I know that these are nothing to do with Quant but I am sure you will find them useful.

My advice: Listen to music till you get into the exam centre. Works wonders!
