I got the ans as (B).
But didnt get the main reason to elminate the option (D).
GMAT warriors can u give me the strong weapon to eliminate the option (D).

The reason for this lies in matters of Grammar Meaning and Concision . MGMAT says that adverb is preferable to a Noun . to rise is preferable to rise-noun . Also active voice is preferable to passive .
