According to me the correct answer is D. If this In our day, the compact disk, superior in quality and convenience, has replaced the vinyl long-playing record and will . . . then the phonographs using the 33 rpm discs will definately be useless as they will not be used in our day...

Hence the correct answer is D. Hope this hels!!!
Please post the answer as soon as possible.......

Let me see if I can clear things up :).

The 33 record replaced the 78 record (the 78 disappeared from the market).
The CD replaced the 33 record---> thus the 33 record will disappear from the market.

Therefore the answer is (D).

Be careful of answer choices such as (E). Most of us can agree-and the last two decades have born this out-that the CD has encouraged the growth of computer music. This is a general fact, however, it has nothing to do with this argument. Remember: rely only on the information at hand. Do not bring your own preconceptions-regardless of whether they are true in the real word-into the question.

Simply put, this question is about the effect of CD on the 33 record. Thus the 33 record and any component technology (in the case of (D) the phonograph) will be unnecessary.
