When a player in a certain game rolled a standard, six-sided die a number of times, she rolled an even number 3 more times than she rolled an odd number. How many times did she roll an even number?

The player rolled the die 21 times.
The player got 5 points for each even number rolled and 2 points for each odd number rolled, for a total of 78 points.
A Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

Statement 1:
E+O = 21.
2 variables, 2 equations. Sufficient.

Statement 2:
5E + 2O = 78.
2 variables, 2 equations. Sufficient.

The correct answer is D.

In my view, the correct answer is D.

Let X be even number's count and y be odd number count.

Dice was rolled 21 times. So x+y = 21
From the second statement, 5x+2y = 78

We need both the statements to solve the problem.

Answer is C

oops I missed one more input in the question. Damn! Agree with D.
