In search for pronoun rules

by 123nobody321 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 12:42 pm
Hi guys,

I have some troubles with the following two sentences (see attachements)

For No. 23:
Can somebody please explain to me why "B" is NOT correct? In fact, "C" is the correct answer. But with C, I thought if a pronoun is written before its antecedent, it must be wrong because one does not know to what it refers!?

For No. 47:
Why is "A" correct but NOT "E"?? I cannot see a rule or something that makes A correct and E incorrect!? I see that A has a present participle (bringing) but what is the explicit rule when to use present (or past) participle and when not?
And why is E then wrong?

Answers are much appreciated!

Q 23. The usage of with is appropriate here rather than having its weight.
Only 2 option use with C & D.

'Is now' is required because we are showing contrast. D ends abruptly.
Hence, C is OA

But, I need the expert's help on this.
Suppose "is" is used before now in option D, will D, then be correct?

Q.47 Experts help needed!
