In a recent poll, only 24 percent of the public favor a leader who is as liberal or is even more liberal than the current leader.

A. as liberal or is even more liberal than
B. as liberal a leader as is
C. at least as liberal as being
D. a leader as liberal or more liberal than is
E. a leader that is more liberal, or at least as liberal as,

D/E-- are wordy

C: being use.. typ gmat error

A: as liberal or is even more liberal than..is incorrect idiom

B: is the correct idiom..
also, it is comparing the liberal traits of the 2 leaders.

any other ans?

lets check grammar

2 comparison require

"as...as" or "more...than"

"as liberal as" or "more liberal than" is correct

"being" is wrong, "is" is ok

B should be correct. In A, it misses "as" after liberal..
"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

I got E because E is the only one with correct usage of "as ..as" idiom, even though E is wordy.

B is a good contender but B will make the state as...

.....leader who is as liberal a leader as is the current leader.
here "is" has been used twice (redundant)...
